Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I choose Partum?

At Partum, we strive to provide inclusive, accessible parent-centered care that meets the unique needs of each family. Those who value evidence and data when making decisions will benefit from our approach.

Does Partum provide in-person consultations?

Most of Partum’s services are delivered virtually via a secure Telehealth platform. Telehealth provides parents with improved access to care by removing traditional barriers such as navigating limited local provider networks, lack of transportation, and difficulty leaving the house with babies and small children in tow.

Our Postpartum + Newborn Care and Overnight Newborn Care services are provided in-person in our clients’ homes; service location restricted to the Kansas City metro area. A daily travel fee of $25 applies to services rendered in homes greater than 30 minutes from Fort Leavenworth, KS.

What are Partum’s payment policies?

Payments are due in full at the time of service. Payment may be processed online or in-person via Cash, Check, Venmo, or Square. Lactation counseling services may be paid via Square using credit cards, debit cards, and HSA/FSA.

Does Partum take my insurance?

Partum is not a contracted in-network provider with insurance companies at this time. Partum does not file claims for out-of-network clients; however, a superbill coded to the level of service provided will be issued to you for your submission to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Will my insurance reimburse the cost of my visit?

Under the Affordable Care Act, women’s preventive services, including lactation support, supplies, and counseling, should be covered by most insurers. We recommend reading through the National Women’s Law Center Toolkit to learn about your rights to lactation service coverage before contacting your insurance company to determine your individual benefits. Partum will provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company to file a claim for reimbursement of the lactation service cost. We cannot guarantee reimbursement by your insurance company.

Pregnancy Navigation, Postpartum Navigation, and Formula Feeding Consultation services are not covered by most insurance companies.
